Laser Vision Correction — It’s Not Just LASIK Anymore
During the last 10 years or so LASIK and more recently CustomLASIK pretty much “ruled the roost” of vision correction surgery. And, quite frankly, a considerable number of patients wishing to become less dependent on glasses missed the LASIK boat due to a variety of disqualifying reasons…age, scope of refractive error, thinness of their corneas… just to name a few.
Today, due to technological advances such as Visian ICL and Clear Lens Exchange, vision correction is not just about LASIK anymore. The point is, there are more choices than ever before, with indications to treat more patients than ever before (including cataract surgery patients, patients with astigmatism and even those who may have been told they were not good candidates for LASIK!). Each option has one goal in mind…to reduce or eliminate your dependence on glasses, reading glasses and contacts.
We believe all options are good. But too many choices may breed confusion.
The question becomes; which procedure is best suited for you?
We are committed to helping you answer this question. We educate you about all the options and their benefits and risks so you have a clear understanding of what may be most appropriate for you and your lifestyle.
Given we have experienced success with all option—and since we choose not to have any financial interest in owning a laser—we have no intrinsic or financial bias. This means we can candidly recommend a procedure with only your best interest in mind… and without prejudice. And if you are not a candidate, it is our responsibility to let you know that too.
Our goal is to help you make an informed decision, one you’ll feel good about.
